Choosing an outfit to wear for your engagement session can be the hardest part of the day! I want your engagement session to be fun, goofy, and most importantly care-free - so I'm sharing my top tips for how to dress for your engagement session so you can check that off your to do list and focus on having a good time!
1) WEAR CLOTHES THAT MAKE YOU FEEL LIKE YOU
My most important tip is to stay true to yourself! Wardrobe choices that are extremely outside your comfort zone will make you look uncomfortable. Choose clothes that feel like you, but as Tan France would say, are “elevated”.
2) COMPLIMENT EACH OTHER, BUT DON'T MATCH
When deciding how you will dress, look for complementary colors and prints without being overly matchy-matchy. Avoid outfits that are all the same color, fabric or pattern - instead, opt for adding a little variety.
3) CHOOSE COLORS AND PATTERNS WISELY
Choose bold colors, cool and warm hues, or neutral tones. Stay away from loud or obnoxious prints, and stick to more neutral ones like plaid or stripes.
4) ELEVATE YOUR LOOKS
Since we usually have time for two outfits, some couples choose to do one more "casual" outfit and one "formal" outfit. This is totally optional, but it's a great option if you can't decide on a vibe for the session!
